Fun things to do in and around Jacksonville
Downtown Jacksonville and Riverside are both beautiful places to wander and enjoy views of the St. Johns River! There are lots of bars and restaurants down there, as well as numerous museums including The Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens, The Museum of Science and History, and The Museum of Contemporary Art. San Marco and Riverside Park are also beautiful places to spend the afternoon.
If you are staying at the Hotel Indigo, it is also located on the water with beautiful views that you can enjoy from their pool or hot tub! There are numerous shops, bars, and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.
If you’re looking to do some shopping, the St. John’s Town Center is like the 5th Avenue of Jacksonville! Ranging from high end shops to shops that we can actually afford :) It’s also a beautiful area to just wander with plenty of restaurants and bars in that area too. (We want to make sure everyone is always well fed!)
We also have the best beaches in the world in Jacksonville (not biased at all)! There is Jacksonville Beach, Atlantic Beach, and Ponte Vedra Beach all within a short drive of each other and each offering its own unique charm. Whether you’re looking for a nice boardwalk, a quieter, more relaxing beach, or some quirky locals as well as super fun outdoor beach bars, you’ll find what you’re looking for!
If you’re looking to take a little 45 minute road trip, St. Augustine is a fun and gorgeous place to spend your day! It is filled with beautiful historic monuments, including military forts, stately castles, and Gilded-Age hotels. You can even take a scary ghost tour!
